Part-Time Housekeeping Associate

Ronald McDonald House Manitoba provides essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare. Our programs include Ronald McDonald House, which provides accommodations for out-of-town families, and Ronald McDonald House Family Room, a place of respite for both Winnipeg and rural Manitoba families inside HSC Children’s Hospital.

Ronald McDonald House Manitoba is currently inviting applications for a part-time Housekeeping Associate at our new Ronald McDonald House located at 62 Juno Street. Shift times are Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Candidates must be available for these specific shifts; no changes can be made. It would also be an asset if the candidate has additional availability to pick up extra day or evening shifts when needed.

The part-time Housekeeping Associate is primarily responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for the families of Ronald McDonald House Manitoba. The Housekeeping Associate functions primarily in facility conditions and provides guest services.

The Housekeeping Associate reports directly to the Housekeeping Coordinator, who reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Successful applicants must be self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Candidates must exude a caring, positive attitude and be a team player willing to help wherever needed.

Successful candidates must provide a current (less than 6-months) and satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check and clear Child Abuse Registry Check with Vulnerable Sector Check. General Responsibilities:

  • Detail and clean guest bedrooms
  • Clean and stock public restrooms
  • Maintain cleanliness of all common areas
  • Ensure stringent cleaning and sanitizing protocols are followed
  • Launder and store guest linens and towels
  • Maintain order in laundry rooms and supply closets
  • Dust and vacuum common areas
  • Clean kitchens
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Energetic person with proven skills in housekeeping and detailing
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time
  • Experience in the hospitality sector an asset

Starting Hourly Wage: $17

Shift times are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Availability for additional shifts on Saturdays or Sundays is an asset. 

The Housekeeping Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest care throughout the House. This position supports day‑to‑day housekeeping operations, provides guidance to Housekeeping Associates, and helps maintain a safe, welcoming, and healing environment for families. The Housekeeping Coordinator reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

  • Team Leadership: Provide day‑to‑day guidance, coaching, and support to Housekeeping Associates to maintain consistent standards of cleanliness and guest care.
  • Training & Development: Train Associates in cleaning protocols, infection control, hygiene, and safety practices; reinforce accountability and quality.
  • Daily Operations Oversight: Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor with daily room care visits, monitor cleanliness across all areas, and ensure standards are met.
  • Coverage Coordination: Coordinate Associate coverage to ensure uninterrupted service for families.
  • Deep Cleaning Oversight: Ensure weekly deep cleaning schedules for occupied guest rooms are completed to established standards.
  • Inventory & Supplies: Monitor housekeeping inventory and replenish cleaning products, linens, and guest toiletries.
  • Safety & Compliance: Uphold and ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and infection control policies throughout the House.
  • Facility Readiness: Support large‑scale cleaning efforts and maintain readiness in common areas, laundry rooms, and storage spaces.
  • Communication: Communicate relevant updates, concerns, or operational issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Passion for the mission of Ronald McDonald House Manitoba
  • 2–3 years of experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory, team lead, or shift lead experience
  • Strong understanding of cleaning standards, infection control, and workplace safety
  • Clear, compassionate communication skills
  • Ability to climb stairs, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support a positive team environment
  • Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sensitivity when working with families in crisis
  • Experience in the hospitality sector is an asset

Hourly Wage Range: $19.00 to $21.00, depending on experience
